Really enjoyed our meal here. Carvor’s has an old-school Florida vibe with only outside seating & electric fans placed around the patio area. Grilled grouper sandwiches were cooked & seasoned perfectly & the melted provolone was a great touch. Cucumber/onion/tomato salad with plenty of tart & black pepper was fantastic (order an extra side of that). Malt vinegar on each table is something many fish places lack, IMO. Well worth stopping on the way to Honeymoon Island. We’d certainly go back.

One of our favorite spots for lunch. Fresh seafood, great service, easy laidback outdoor seating with water fountain and trees providing natural shade. It’s a little slice of paradise and always feels like we’re on vacation while eating here. I go for the fried shrimp basket with sweet potato fries, wife loves the fried scallop basket with regular fries and a side of coleslaw…. Kids had fries with grilled grouper. Everything fresh and delicious. Will definitely be back and highly recommend it.

Carvor’s still has, hands down, the BEST blackened grouper sandwich in Pinellas County. It’s one of those meals you think about long after you leave. Perfectly seasoned, fresh, and honestly indescribably good. That sandwich alone keeps us coming back year after year. That said, the experience this time felt very different from previous visits. The older woman who has worked there for years continues to come across as rushed and unfriendly every time we visit, which unfortunately affects the overall atmosphere. We’ve been coming here for about 4 years now, and it’s become noticeable enough that we honestly prefer going when she isn’t working. On the other hand, the younger staff members have always been friendly, welcoming, and great to interact with. Also worth noting: the prices and items on the board are no longer accurate, so make sure to check the paper menu by the register instead. We’ll absolutely keep returning for the grouper because it really is THAT good, just hoping the customer experience improves moving forward.

Why Didn’t I Know About this Place Sooner? Dunedin has a lot of great little restaurants. I don’t know how this one didn’t show up on my radar sooner. The outdoor seating is very nice. The staff were all great. The prices were good. I started with the smoked fish. While I enjoyed it, the fish needed a little more flavor from the smoking process. I added some vinegar, salt and a bit of hot sauce. I had plenty to take home. For my main I had fish & chips. The fish was cod and there were four large pieces in a thin crust. It was moist and flaky and delicious—one of the best fish & chips I’ve ever had. The fries were crunchy and tasty. I had a side of cole slaw and, unlike in many places, it was tangy and delicious. I hope to return soon.

A Gulf Coast Gem – Fried Shrimp Perfection and More! Carvor’s Fish House is an absolute standout — one of those places you walk into and instantly feel welcomed. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly right from the start, and the food? Out of this world. I’ve lived along the Gulf Coast for 50 years, and I can honestly say this was the best fried shrimp I’ve ever had. Perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful inside — just absolute perfection. I’m not usually a fan of fish and chips, but their cod completely won me over. Light, flaky, and cooked just right. The fries were solid, the grouper tacos were fresh and flavorful, and the hush puppies were golden bites of heaven. The cole slaw was just okay, but honestly, everything else more than made up for it. They’ve also got a surprisingly nice selection of beer and wine, which was the cherry on top of a fantastic meal. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Carvor’s is 100% worth the stop. Do yourself a favor and check it out — you won’t be disappointed.
